Missed Rehearsals:

If you have to miss a rehearsal please contact the other actor playing your role to see if you can switch rehearsals with them. For instance, tomorrow (Sunday) we will be doing the same blocking that we did last Thursday so some actors that were scheduled to come Thursday switched with someone scheduled to come Sunday so both of them will have all of the same information and be able to keep up. If you miss a rehearsal and can not switch with someone else, you can still sit in on another casts rehearsal to get your blocking or at the very least, go to the cast list on the website, see the other actor playing your role, and contact them PRIOR to your next rehearsal to get the blocking, notes, choreography, and memorization goals so that you are not behind at the next rehearsal. You are required to keep up on your own as we do not have time to teach the same material multiple times. Everyone is in this same situation and we always find that the kids are very helpful with each other when they make the effort to get together!!

Once you are given blocking for a scene you are expected to have the lines and blocking memorized at your next rehearsal. The first time you run your scenes off book you will be allowed to call for your line…. but at the following rehearsal you will be expected to get through the scenes without calling line.

Please do not be late for rehearsals!!  In most cases we cannot start until every cast member is there so when you are late you are holding up everyone who was on time. If you MUST be late, please call my cell phone and leave a message BEFORE your call time.  Gloria Bennett 818-808-6714.  You only need to call once.  Once I call roll, if someone is missing I first check my messages, then if I have not heard from them then I call them to make sure they are on their way and what time they expect to be there.  Everyone who is called needs to be there before we can start rehearsal, so please do everything you can (without breaking the law) to be on time.

Make sure that you bring your scripts and a pencil to EVERY rehearsal.

CALL TIMES FOR TECH and PERFORMANCES:

For the performances, actors are called ONE HOUR before their show time.  Doors do not open for the audience until 15 minutes before show time.

Tech rehearsal times will be posted above.  DO NOT BE LATE!  Plan to be early to be on time.

ALL SHOWS WILL BE AT 12716 Sherman Way, North Hollywood CA, 91605, the BRAND NEW permanent home for YOUNG STARS THEATRE!!

CHEAT SHEET:

This is a helpful tool for an actor that anyone can use.  Very simply, it is a list of cues (what lines you enter and exit on), any costume changes and where they go, and any props that are needed.   This can be posted up backstage for the actor to refer to when they are offstage, and helps them keep everything straight without having to carry a script around everywhere.  For this show, everything should easily fit on one page.  Keep it as short as possible.  For each entrance -

FIRST: put the ACT number and the scene number, and maybe a short helpful description of the scene (i.e., "First clubhouse scene")

SECOND: under that put the cue line or sound or whatever the cue is and where you enter from

THIRD: under that put any props that you need

Between these, put any costume changes at the places you would need to change.

Repeat for all entrances.

Please bring 1 headshot to your next rehearsal with nothing stapled to it...if you have more than one 8x10 printed...a commercial shot would be best...we do not need your resume, you already booked the job!!
